John Pelham of Alabama

John Pelham of Alabama. This is the first major biography in almost 50 years of one of the bravest of the brave. John Pelham's life was packed into 24 short years. Born in Alabama, he spent his last years of life fighting in the Confederate Army, in Virginia. His bravery and honor were legendary. He was highly extolled by R. E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and JEB Stuart as well as many others. This West Point man was superior in fighting "horse artillery" and was a horseman par excellence. By SCV Chaplain-in-Chief, H. Rondel Rumburg

School of the Spirit: A Sermonic Study of the Holy Spirit

Have you desired to understand the wonderful Person and work of the Holy Spirit in your life? Perhaps sometime in the past you tried to explore the Holy Spirit's ministry but lost your way. In these pages you will gain a new understanding of the exciting, joyful, victorious ministry of the Holy Spirit.

The Doctrine of the Holy Spirit is of interest to all with questions about successful Christian living. The Holy Spirit is the Person and Power for spiritual success. The believer is not expected just to do the best he can in his journey of faith. The Holy Spirit has been sent from the Father and the Son to be the spiritual dynamic in that journey. God told Zerubbabel, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts (Zechariah 4:6). It is the challenge of each believer, therefore, to fully embrace the Spirit of God and experience all the blessings God has for His children.

Foundational issues regarding the Holy Spirit are surveyed with biblical analysis. Difficult questions are explored under the authority of God's Word. Clarity and insight with practical application radiate from each chapter. By SCV Chaplain-in-Chief, Ray L. Parker

Christ in the Camp. From 1861 to 1865, many thousands of Confederate soldiers professed Christ as their Savior and Lord and many more thousands renewed in their commitment to serve God in camp and battlefield. In this classic book are recorded stories of the heroism of chaplains who stood in the line of battle to minister to the fallen or worked at the beside of fatally ill comrades. Here, too, we read of the Christian genearls who supported the many facets of Gospel work: Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, J.E.B Stuart, and others.

Chaplains in Gray. Author Charles Pitts wrote in his preface: "My subject for the U.D.C. meeting was "Pastors, Priests, and Rabbis of the Confederacy", and I had three months to prepare the address. But the libraries of several Texas cities yielded little. After extensive research, I realized that the Confederate chaplain needed study and deserved it."

This book is the compilation of Pitts' research on a group of men that God used in a crucial time in American history.

Let's Study the Revelation: A Sermonic Approach

The messages in this book were prepared for Sunday preaching - this is a sermonic study of the Revelation. Each chapter formed the basis for a Sunday morning sermon at New Beginnings Fellowship (now Parke Memorial Church), Evansville, Indiana. These studies, although not prepared for scholars or exegetes, are grounded in sound interpretive principles and procedures from an evangelical, literalist stance.

The Book of Revelation is of interest to all with questions about the future. In its pages God pulls back the curtain of time and eternity that we might glance in. It is evident that God is in control and that God's detailed plan will be accomplished. This is a book of encouragement for all of Christian faith.

The Book of Revelation is crafted with three broad divisions:

I. The Church Age (that is the age from Pentecost to the Rapture): Revelation 1-3.

II. The Tribulation Period (that time between the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ): Revelation 4-19.

III. The Kingdom and Beyond (from the Millennial Reign of Christ into eternity): Revelation 20-22.

May our Lord bless and guide as you begin this important study. The Person of the Revelation is Jesus Christ Himself. The Power of the Revelation is Almighty God. The Proclamation of the Revelation is the victory of righteousness over all that is evil. By SCV Chaplain-in-Chief, Ray L. Parker.
